teeth washing ;)

Since yesterday Momichan has started a new thing: she takes her child's stool, put it near the washtub, climb it up and grabs the toothbrush to clean her teeth all by herself and she is very good in doing it !!! Amazing child really :)

I put her near her mirror so that she perfect see herself inside and see what to brush correctly, she also washes the toothbrush, and as soon as she's finished she put it again away inside her mug :)

At The Park Today

Momichan loves to go to the park as I said but most of all she loves to run trying to catch the ball whenever there are kid playing, she is so sweet ^^

Most of the times kids are too big for her to play with, cannot wait the moment she will go to kindergarten so that she will have possibility to meet many kids same age, have new friends and learn many new things, maybe also to talk a little ^^

In the first foto you see momichan play hide and seek, she covers her eyes like "koo kuuu, someone there ?" she plays often, second foto she is looking at some kids playing ball, third one she is climbing, forth foto she is on the "scivolo" ^^

Park

This is the park where we go, Momichan and I, whenever is sunny and hot or in autumn if it is a nice day. In the summer like now when evening comes but there is still light, is nice to stay here except for the mosquitos that are millions :)

In the fotos you can see what we call "scivolo",(foto 1) "molloni",(foto 2) "altalene", (foto 3) if you know the name in english please tell me ^^

Scivoli ...

Does someone knows how to say in english "scivoli" ?

I cannot find the word in the dictionary.
We say "scivoli" talking of the thing you can see in the images here ^^

Momichan likes them very much, here you can see her coming down from the one you can find in front of the Ikea store, she always want to go there after we finish the visit inside the shop.

Today weather is really hot, so much that Momichan after ten minutes is all sweaten.

We have to go away and get inside the store again at the coffee shop to take a fresh juice and some fresh air ^^

Half A Day With Daddy ^^

As every sunday, Sampei is home until 15.00 PM so as we do not still have a kitchen at home and we can stay a little time alltogather, we decide to eat at the chinese restaurant, Momichan loves the chinese meals, noodles with veggies and meat, chicken with bamboo, egg and veggies, meat gyoza, canton rice (with peas, egg, ham) and in case of a no-hungry-period going there is always a good choice, as soon as we will have the new kitchen we will buy a wok so we will cook chinese meals sometimes and we will have a lot of fish also.

Today we can still walk along the town still deserted, no people around, everybody still on vacation :) next week everybody will be there and town will be crowdy again.
Momichan is happy to have sometime with daddy and today she is wearing an elegant ensemble for the occasion. She runs along the street, no car around nowhere.

At the restaurant we order pizza for daddy, canton rice, chinese spaghettini with veggies and meat and grilled chicken with veggies for Momi and me.

Momichan eats a lot, she loves the rice and chicken ^^

We have a coffee while Momichan runs across the restaurant smiling, there are just a few peolple there and she does not bother anybody.

After the meal we have still time so we take Momichan to the park.

She is always happy to go to the park even when there are no kids like now but today is special because there is daddy with us. The park is quiet and fresh even if today there are 32 degrees again and a lot of humidity.

(We already got accustomed to the fresh temperatures of last week around 20 degrees, it was so nice ....)

Everywhere we go Momi is always searching for soffioni (dandelions), she is crazy about them because they are soft and fly away if she blows, she always laughs when I give her one :)

Park is so nice with nobody there, we are free to go wherever we want and Momi can go here and there without worring and waiting. She also loves when there are kids because now she starts to need company and make friends, I guess she will happy at kindergarden in september, she will have a lot of new friends and she will have opportunity to learn many things and play with a lot of toys.

We start to search for clovers, we find so many with more than three leaves !!! we are lucky ? bah :) seems in this park clovers with more than three leaves are easy to find, ours have five or four ^^

Daddy plays with Momi, she runs and jumps here and there while I take fotographs.

Balance, scivoli, molloni, Momichan likes everything ^^

Is nearly three o'clock, we have to go home, Momichan has to drink her milk and have a nap, daddy has to take bicicle to go to work.

Also day is really hot and humid today so while Momi has nap temperature goes down and around five we can go out again to the park and to search for duckies :)

Momi's Bento Box

Today we had to go ChinaTown to buy some japanese foods we can find only there.

We were walking around and we were curiosing around inside the shops to see if there were some novelties.

In one of our preferred stores where usually we buy edamame, I found a new bento box, inside the shop they had the same bento in three different measures: one, two and three tier.

I bought the smaller one but I was thinking whenever I will go next week by bicycle with Momi to buy another one bigger.

I will use this one for Momi to take around her snacks and future bento I will prepare her as soon as wse will have the new kitchen at home, cannot wait to have my new kitchen ^^

Here is the new bento box, light brown decorated by flowers, very cute, name is written in japanese and is correct even if the bento is made in China, shape is round and I have to say it is a big box for a baby 2 years old.

I can use it also for my future work thanks to the two handles I do not need to use a bag to carry it, I can use for Momi to take food or snacks when we go to the park or if we go on trip somewhere, I can also put some ice cubes on the bottom inside a plastic bag to keep food fresh ^^
We also visited Kathay and we bought some noodles, green tea mochi and three bowles for rice, green decorated by sakura flowers, they were discounted, we thought they will be very useful for rice, spaguetti, sweets and whatever we will want to cook and serve on the table. Momichan also found some Hello Kitty hair pins and obviously we were forced to buy :)) you can see in the foto she is wearing one ^^

Shopping

Today we have to go search for new dresses for Momichan, weather is rapidly changing and summer pants and tshirts are no longer suitable here, our baby needs some sweater and some warm clothes.

McDonald's is near the stores, Momichan like every child like the toys contained inside the happy meal and today Shrek is the new one (see foto, Momichan is holding her Shrek). We enter the store, a happy meal is for Momi even if she will eat a plain hamburger, baby carrots and peach juice, for us a big tasty and filet fish menu medium.

Another thing for wich Momi gets crazy like everybody are french fried fries .... now, she is not yet 2 year old baby and fries are not really the food you can give to a child like her I perfectly know but two or three little pices won't do her any harm expecially when this evening she will have a ham hamburger, veggies and rice.

When I go to McDonalds with Momi I rarely take menus of fries in general but today we made an exception.
After lunch Momichan wants to play outside, she likes the attraction for kids located outside the store, and she climbs inside happily.
After a few up and down inside the tower (see fotos) we have to go, there is a nearby shop for cheap kids clothes we want to visit and two more kid stores just in front of McDonald shop.
We visit all and Momi amuses herself in every kid corner of Chicco, Prenatal, Decathlon and the other stores, is not easy to tell her we have to go home , we have found a pair of sweaters (pants and jacket) and a pair of shirts, and is nearly dinner time, we have to catch the bus to go home.
While we are approaching the bus stop Momichan fall asleep :) she awakes only when we are home again, a quick dinner, bath, warm pijama, nappy, pacifier, milk bottle and she fall asleep again in her bed where this morning I have changed all blankets and put a warm and soft crib comforter. During the day now temperature is 20 degress or less, during the night is around 10 or 12 degrees so we already use comforter.

Surprise rain ...

Weather forecast says day is sunny with possibilty of some clouds but no rain so we decide to go around for a short trip with the bikes.
I prepare the bag for Momichan, dress her warm and put her the helmet on (see foto), father takes his rain jacket and we got out.

We run along the navigli, (for explanation in english click here) a special place in Milan very characteristic where you can have a coffee looking the boat passing by or search for strange stores, eat in characteristic restaurants or more.

We have just the time to enter a sandwich shop for a quick snack when unespectedly start to rain and water fall hard more and more !!!

As everytime we come here, we have bought two hot dogs, one for daddy and one for Momi and me, the owner of the shop prepares the sandwich and hot dog himself and everything is so cheap and tasty, Momichan is crazy for his hot dogs (prepared plain with no sauce at all) and most of the times she is able to eat one all by herself, she is always happy when I propose her to have a hot dog on the navigli. Bread of the hot dog is made of the same pasta for pizza and is soft, wurstel is just boiled so is healthy enough even if Momichan doesn't eat wurstel often, most of the time she eats veggies, rice or pasta, meat and fish but sometimes if we are out she love sto have and hot dog plain ^^

We wait a little to see if rain stops but it get worse, we have to wear the rain jackets but the problem is we have just one, mine and Momichan are home on the table ! so Sampei gives his jacket to Momi, it is big enough to cover her completely to keep her dry. Now we can go out.

It is pretty long until home and Momichan is frightened by the hard rain but finally we arrive, we are all wet and cold but Momichan is dry and warm thanks to the pile she is wearing.

A warm shower for us and a bubble foam bath for Momichan with all her squeeze toys, a light meal and for her also a bottle milk and her ciuccio, bed is waiting for ua all, good night :)

During The Night ...

As yesterday Momichan had a bad experience at the hospital because of the bacterial infection, during the night poor baby could not sleep and me either ! Around 4.00 AM she awaked for nightmares shouting and weeping desperately, I tried to keep her calm but nothing worked until I decided to leave my confortable sofa bed with Sampei and move on the floor with a cushion and a blanket near Momichan's bed keeping for all night long my hand on her head :)
Luckily this morning everything was allright except I was deadly tired but Momichan had a cute smile on her face and she was well again ^^

First Aid .... Hospital

Bad adventure today for my baby Momichan.

This afternoon when Momichan woke up from her usual nap her cheeks were red and face was hot, I took her temperature and discovered she had 39 degrees fever !!!
I decided to take her to First Aid at the children hospital, so I prepared her bag with a change, books, kitty pelouche and some drinks and togather with Sampei and granny we went to Buzzi hospital (where she was born 21 months ago, the only hospital in Milan specialized for children).

After a short time the doctor visited Momichan, fever was disappeared but Momichan was feeling hill. Doctor applied her a special sac and sent us to the waiting room (special sac works to contain urine so that instead of doing urine inside the nappy she would do inside the sac).

After a while we returned inside so that doctor could take the urine and make a test .... exam was positive for a bacterial infection.

To be absolutely sure, doctor said us he would need to do a blood exam and another urine check but instead of using again the sac doctor had to apply a special silicone tube ... well just a few minutes ago Momichan had burst into tears because of the needle inside her arm which was aspiring her blood and sending it to a small container but now that the doctor was inserting a silicone tube to aspire urine she was literally terrorised, I had never seen my baby so terrorised by something, I did not know what to do to keep her calm, she had already done the same thing when she was 9 months and on that occasion everything has gone ok bot not today. Momichan was shouting terrorised, moved and struggled so that three nurses had to help to keep her blocked while doctor worked, it was horrible to see but I had to be present, I kissed Momi, caressed her, hugged her, whispered her sweets words, sang songs but nothing seemed to help, finally doctor succeeded in taking some urine and all was over but not for Momichan, the result was that she was still weeping like a crazy for more than half an hour during which we had so much to do to keep her calm singing songs, hugging her again, tell her we were proud of her, kissing her and finally she calmed and fall asleep.

In the meantime doctor was analyzing blood and urine and after 20 minutes called us again inside (we were in the waiting room again) to give us advices on what medicine to give Momichan and to tell us we would have to make other exams in a couuple of weeks (one is an ecography, the other is again the urine taken with the special sac).

We arrived home at 11 PM, Momichan was exausted poor sweetie, I put her a new nappy and a fresh pijama, gave her milk, hugged her and put her to bed.

At first she did not want to sleep and wanted to stay in my arms, I hugged her again, kissed her sweetly and told her a story, gave her milk again and after a while she fall asleep.

Foto you see over there is Momichan before going to bed with a blue Ikea patch I put her on her arm (where the doctor put the needle) to make Momichan smile a little ^^

Going Seaside ..... :) (SECOND PART, EVENING)

After having showered and dressed, we go to the shore bar to have a coffee and give Momi her juice. I have to finish dress her so she can look around while I put cream on her and dress her.

Now we have to find an hotel for the night before going dinner.
We are lucky and we find one just crossed the street, hotel is not five star but we just need a comfortable and clean room where to rest and possibly a small camping bed for the baby, they have :)

We register, give the documents and go out again to search a place to eat.

There is a restaurant with children menu called Betulla that is quite cheap :) and also has ikea highchair, fantastic for Momi who can seat comfortably at the table with us ^^

While waiting for the dinner we chat and play, look around, Momi is really happy but tired, anyway she behaves well.

Waiter comes with water so I can fill Momi's bottle and give her to drink.

Momichan is really hungry and eat everything I give her, pasta with tomato sauce, veggies and a yummy cotoletta ^^

After dinner we take a walk along the sea, there is music everywhere, people dancing, fair with little train for kids and games you can put coins inside and make move, many people have markets and display on a long line of tables many types of merchandise: bags, jewels, vintage dresses, glasses, toys, foods ... we are curios and Momi too, take a look at everything and also go on the kid train.

Is late now, Momi has to sleep so we go to the hotel. Problem is we had not take anything for the night so we do not have any pijamas or toothpaste, deodorant ... we will have to buy tomorrow morning but luckily I have nappies for Momi and another change of dress.

As soon as we arrive in the room I organize for the night, shower Momi and put her a clean nappy. While she is on our bed with daddy I wash all her clothes and put outside to dry.
Momichan is electric, crazy, happy, she jumps on the bed, everything is a novelty for her and she doesn want to sleep even if she needs ....

We leave her play another little while we also shower and prepare to go sleep. I put her in her camping bed with her Hello Kitty and grey cat I had taken from home (she always sleeps with the gray cat) and give her her dummy.

After 15 minutes she falls asleep. She is so cute inside the small bed wearing just the nappy hugging the pelouche .... dream little Momichan, tomorrow will be another great day !

Going Seaside ..... :)

This summer during vacation period as we cannot go really vacation we have decided to have a day at seaside and take Momichan to bath in the sea.

With a rented car we just have to do something like 250 kilometers and we find Finale Ligure a small town directly on the seaside. Momichan is happy even if she doesn't understand really what she will see, everything will be a sourprise. During the travel we stop to eat at an Autogrill restaurant along the highway and we find a pelouche of Hello Kitty .... we have to buy to Momi :)

Finally we reach the seaside town and we start to search for a parking. Momi starts to understand something and is excited, looks everywhere and wants to run but we have to take our belongings and she has to wait a little :)

We have to find a place where to stay so we start to ask at every private "bagno" if they have place.

In Italy in Liguria and along the coasts there are very few public shoeres, most of them are private and are called "bagni", you pay a small sum of money and you can have your place with umbrella, beds, services like coffee shop, a place where to change dresses and showers, eventually rent small boats or something.

We find a "bagno" which can give us two places without big umbrella directly near the sea.
WOW, we take out toys and towels and Momichan can have her first sea bath ...
She is enthusiastic, starts to move legs and feet, shouts happily, smiles, she is crazy about that novelty, she is so sweet :)
After a while we get out of water and we sit on the shore line, Momi plays with the sand, strange thing the sand, humid fresh, made of micro pebbles among wich you can find many treasures .... we fill an entire water bottle of varios little stones and pices of green, white, blue pices of glass all made round by rolling thousand times inside sea, thees stones are like emeralds and brilliants and Momi loves them and is happy to collect :)
Is already six o'clock ... what should we do ? going home Milan again ? Momichan is so happy about the sea ... we have an idea, we can search for an hotel here and go home tomorrow ^^
We tell Momichan and she start to jump for happiness !

We go to the showers, we have to clean, dress and find someplace to eat ....

(SECOND PART OF THE STORY FOLLOWS .....)

Livigno

Sampei is on vacation for a couple of weeks so we have organized for today a short travel to Livigno to take Momichan to the mountains and we have invited also granny to come with us.

We take beverages, Momi's travel bag with nappies, a change and other items, a blanket, some warm jackets for us (temperature is around 15 degrees up there).

We have for the occasion, rented a small car (we do not have car since last summer) a small Peugeot 206, the car is new so it has no problems to go up to the mountains.

Travel is long for our baby (about 250 km from home) so I have filled a special bag with many little toys, snacks and books she can look at, some of them are squeezable too.
Along the route we stop to have lunch and make Momichan run a little around, breeze some fresh air and change nappy. In short time we are already on the go.

Before 15.00 PM we are arrived, first of all we refill tank with gasoline and after we park (in Livigno gasoline is cheaper than any other city in bItaly).

We are ready to go around so we direct to the first supermarket to buy chokolate bars, bresaola, coffee, dices for broth and other foods (in Livigno many items have special low prices included cameras, pc and others).

Momichan is happy, she jumps here and there.

I have to stop in a store to buy a berret for Momi because air is really cold and I fear she can get someting at the ears if I do not cover them and keep warm (you can see Momichan with the navy blue berret on the right). We also stop at a cafe for a snack and Momi drinks her juice. When we get out again starts to rain and we have to wait for 20 minutes before it stops, unluckily we do not have anything for the rain because weather forecast said hot, no clouds and no rain at all !!! BAHHH !!!
Sunny again we restart walking around the town, jumping from a shop to another until evening seven o'clock, it's time to eat so we leave the village and once again inside the car, we drive towards home.

On the route after one hour travel there's a good restaurant where we can have pizza or local mountain dishes, his name is Rosengarden.

Momichan is a good child, she eats everything I give her, some pasta with tomato sauce, veggies and cotoletta. We finish eating and before paying to go away I make the waiter fill Momichan bottle with milk so that when she drinks it inside the car she fall asleep. I put the blanket on her so that she keeps warm, outside temperature is still low.

We arrive home around midnight, Momichan is still sleeping but she will have to wake up ... I have to wash her and put a new fresh nappy and pijama, then give her milk and put her to bed. We are all tired so as soon as we touch beds we all fall asleep. GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY !

Good To Eat ???

Momichan seems to like different types of "meat" .... HAHAHA

One day when she was smaller I found her eating a live insect and I told her human babies do not eat that type of things so now when ever she want to have fun and make someone laugh she acts as if she is eating real ones but instead she is just playing with her insects ikea mobile ^^
